consultation with preliminary sketch drawings

awarchitects believe that the best way to start a project off is with a half day consultation during which client and architect sit down together and sketch out design options. These drawings will be tidied up after the meeting and sent to the client as pdfs and hard copies, along with a set of meeting notes that covers the issues discussed during the visit, and a summary of relevant issues concerning planning, building regulations, party walls etc. These freehand sketch drawings, together with the notes, are invaluable at this stage, enabling clients to quickly and properly assess different design options and feasibility before committing to the expense of a full survey and CAD drawings. The drawings can also be used for preliminary discussions with planners, neighbours, and builders.

Typical cost: 4 –8 hours @ architects hourly rate

Time schedule: allow 2-4 weeks for this stage

 

These notes are based on small, simple projects such as house extensions, £40- 150K in value
