planning or lawful development application

Planning and lawful development applications are submitted online with drawings and documents attached as pdfs. A ‘Design and Access Statement’ may also be needed, eg if the site is in a conservation area.

 

Once registered (following receipt of clients payment to the council), the application can be tracked online. Planners typically take eight weeks to process an application and issue a planning approval notice or lawful development certificate. At some point the case officer will make a visit to the site.

 

awarchitects will contact the planner to check on progress and enquire if the application is going to approved, or if any amendments will be needed to secure consent.

 

Typical cost: 2-4 hours @ architects hourly rate
